Souhegan Home & Hospice Care has a very limited amount of flu vaccine for children between the ages of 6 months to 23 months. Vaccinations will be performed during an evening clinic in December and are by appointment only on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge for this clinic.
Souhegan Home & Hospice Care is also scheduling flu vaccination appointments for adults 65 and over. These will occur on selected mornings in December and are also on a first come, first served basis. Medicare participants should bring their Medicare cards when receiving shots. All others will be asked to pay a nominal fee of $20.
Both clinics will take place at the agency’s main office at 24 North River Road, Milford, NH. To make an appointment for either clinic, call Paula at 673-3460 weekdays between the hours of 12 and 3 pm. No walk-ins will be accepted.
Additional:
Due to the severe flu vaccine shortage this year, it’s inevitable that there will be some people who wish to be vaccinated but are unable to do so. But whether you receive the vaccine or not, these simple actions can help stop the spread of germs and help protect you from getting sick:
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze – throw the tissue away after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. If you are not near water, use an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
Stay away as much as you can from people who are sick.
If you get the flu, stay home from work or school. If you are sick, do not go near other people so that you don’t make them sick too.
Try not to touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs often spread this way.
